GUIDELINES AND POLICIES
INTRODUCTION
In 1994, after the
dissolution of the “Tournament of Breeders”, a committee was formed
to assure an on-going organization comprised of stallion owners. The
committee recognized the enormous potential, and decided that in order
to achieve this potential, it would take more than just stallion owners.
A non-profit corporation was formed in 1995 with two divisions: National
Association of Breeders (NAB) and National Breeders Cup (NBC). NAB was
formed to produce the Championship Show, develop educational programs,
promote sponsors and the like, with membership open to anyone. NBC was
formed as a free-standing division of NAB, comprised of stallion owners,
with its own members, officers and directors, who promote breeding, foal
nominations, and provide nomination fees as added prize money. In 2004,
by a vote of the membership, the two organizations were combined making
NAB the sole organization.
