Country Kate D. was born May 18, 1995, the offspring of Country Jazz and Missouri Minnie D. She comes from the heart of our breeding program as she is third generation. Our pride is our broodmares crossed on the predominate sires of our breed. Her mother Missouri Minnie D. was sired by the Great Missouri Traveler out of Toddy's Annetta. Toddy Annetta produced five foals by Missouri Traveler which made the show ring, Missouri Midnite Lady D., Missouri's Praire Pride D., Missouri's Cactus Jack D., Missouri Mystery Lady D., and Missouri's Minnie D. For the past several years Rex Barham has taken care of our broodmares, and without his help we would never have been able to achieve the success we have been so fortunate to achieve. We had Kate at home in Kansas as a yearling and delivered her to the masterful hands of Vance Vahle in the fall of 1996. After becoming used to the saddle and bit it was obvious that she was a great prospect. Vance has done a wonderful job of developing her natural talent. Her first show was the 2 yr. old futurity where she won her qualifying class and finished 3rd in the stake. Her next show was Boliver receiving 2nd place and then Buffalo receiving1 st place. Coming into the Breeders Cup we were confident of her chances as she made a great show Thursday night finishing 1 st. Saturday night she had some problems but still exhibited the great trot and rhythm she is capable of and finished with a Reserve Grand Champion.

Thank you all for your support and congratulation to the officers of the Breeders Cup for presenting a great show. The new innovations seemed to be well received.

Thank you! Rich & Willa
